Fortitude

Newt is right-this is no time for hand wringing,if onlys, shoulda, coulda or wouldas.

This is the time to take action and make damn sure the dimwits do not retain the house in Nov. If we take back the house we can very simply and easily put this to death by refusing to fund it-executive orders are specifically banned from alloting funds and the senate can’t pass funding on their own that is why it is easy to kill these initiatives like the KSM trial in NYC.Reconciliation must pass both houses so they can’t use that either.

This is our best solution and the BEST part is that Obama can’t use a veto,

haha …..this is our call to action.

If you think that entitlement programs never get repealed, tell that to FDR who had several of his programs thrown out by the Supreme Court-do not buy into the media’s chatter about “it never being done” yes it has and yes we will stop it.

Also do not believe the hype about amnesty being next-that will never get through and even LINDSEY GRAHHMNESTY said as much last week!

Reconciliation cannot be used to pass it either as it specifically violates the BYRD rule about changing social security-all of that talk last week was simply to get the hispanic caucus on board for their Health Insurance Payoff to Obama’s campaign donors.Onward and upward.

Regarding Sunday’s vote

Hi y’all-I was unfortunate enough to not be able to make it D.C. with everyone and thought I’d share (okay vent) my thought with everyone.

Although this seems like a crushing loss to us all-it would appear a vital need for us all (okay, okay ME) to separate the emotion from the facts.

Fact 1)-We let ourselves get complacent and forgot about our civic duties that were given to us through others costly and hard won efforts via the constitution. How many of us were sure to vote but didn’t really do a whole lot of research on candidates or just voted on ballots where there were names we were unaware of,but voted for ,nonetheless because there was an R by their names? How many of us knew the constitution front to back before last year? How many of us paid attention to votes on cspan and checked our side’s rhetoric against their voting record. I’d hazard a guess at not many, myself included. As bizarre and uncomfortable as the notion is-Obama handed us a GREAT gift-through his own inept ,deaf and, partisan efforts-he managed to do what seemed impossible a year ago-he galvanized an entire nation to shake off their stupor and GET INVOLVED. There will be no more half hearted elections anymore where we vote for the lesser of two evils. We are no longer uninformed and rely on media outlets and pundits to spoon feed us their interpretations and agendas. Many of us rarely if ever used twitter, facebook,or even blogs until today. The days of talking with family, friends, and neighbors-even strangers off of the streets are back with a vengeance. We are awake and will not be falling back asleep anytime soon democrats. We are not retreating-we are reloading.

Fact 2) I have never in my life been prouder to be a conservative, our representatives held firm in their resolve and refused to back down. Through our and their strongly held beliefs and the planks of our party-we HELD OUR GROUND and forced Obama to water his HCR bill down so much that it is a weak and feckless piece of paper. His own base got absolutely nothing out of it other than bragging rights that their president FINALLY accomplished SOMETHING after 16 months as President. I suspect that in a month or so-their euphoria will wear off and they will start looking at how they were gamed by their own party. No single payer,no medicare buy-in,no public option,a mandate(payoff) to insurance companies, less health care and the IRS breathing down their backs-reconciliation will only make it worse-YEAH-it won’t be long before that exploding time bomb goes off in the progressive party.Call your representatives and congressmen and thank them wholeheartedly for their efforts.

Fact 3) There will be no more bills passed in this congress. The republicans to their credit held off the ENTIRE Obama agenda other than this weak version of health care.No immigration bill will make it through the senate without their 60 votes, cap and trade is gone, card check is a thing of the past, and even closing GITMO is kaput. IF reconciliation goes through the senate(and I doubt they will even attempt it),it will take another one to two months off of the docket-that brings us into June-it is an election year-there will be no more bills passed because of the need for members to get back into their districts to campaign(er,plead with their constituents). That buys us time-we will use every single second of it.

Fact 4) We must now take one to two days to cry in the closet, down a bottle of Jack,or beat an inanimate object up(may I recommend chopping wood, kneading bread, or the rifle range?-my personal favorite is screaming while I mow the lawn, but alas, the grass isn’t up yet.THEN,and I’m sure Elizabeth will see to this,we MUST jump full board into the upcoming election. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES-We will make damn sure that Obama and the dimwit deaf democrats will learn this the very hard and painful way. Candidate research is especially important and we know that Scott is on top of that-bless him. Everyday, all day make it a goal to talk to at least three new people regarding conservative principals-a lot of people don’t know what they believe and go along with the crowds-we need to stem that tide. I plan to walk neighborhoods,go to churches, grocery stores and public events and hand out literature. If it is a fair,a community event, at a restaurant-whatever get your talking points out and start talking. We are all already doing that-we need to KEEP doing that, myself included.

Fact 5) It is time to tune out the media chatter for the next week, ignore the bragging from left wing news media who will be sure to inflate polls, hype the democratic message, and report breathlessly on their chosen one. Their desperation for something,ANYTHING good to report tells us all we need to know. Instead, turn your eyes to your families, take a hard look at your finances and tighten your belts as much as possible for any upcoming economic disasters that could befall us, and continue going to church and praying. We will get through this one second at a time, one minute at a time and one day at a time. In the military, our wives group has a saying-”We can’t all be strong all of the time, but we can borrow strength from each other when we need it” the same applies here. In the wise words of none other than YODA himself,”there is no try-you either do it or you don’t” but we all know sometimes we need a little support from others to get it done. Our founders did it,facing MUCH steeper odds and we can and WILL do it too.It is the end of the first quarter in a four quarter game, the dimwits won the first round,we will win the other three.

Fact 6) Every time Obama has tried to impose something unconstitutional it has come back to bite him hard. We saw him try to sign a treaty in Copenhagen and be forced to retreat because of Senator Inhofe,we saw him try to write an executive order for the EPA that congress refused to fund, we saw him try to bring terrorists to trial in NYC only to have congress refuse to fund it, we saw him try to pass an unconstitutional DEEM AND PASS strategy for health care only to have his own party members refuse to go along. These are all good signs, but I doubt they are the end of his misbegotten actions to subvert our constitution. The Marines have a saying I love” Once is happenstance, twice a coincidence, three times is enemy action. Make no mistake-he IS the enemy of our constitution-we need to fight tooth and nail to frame his attempts in the most negative and embarrassing light as possible. Take pride in being called the “party of no” and become the party of hell no. They make it easy because of their over reaching-We all need to keep an eye on these kinds of things so we can get the word out-the HERITAGE FOUNDATION is very good at researching this stuff-check them often and then tell us all about it-so what if it’s old news-push it out there, there are always going to be people who have not heard and can continue to spread the word.

Fact 7) Obviously venting (okay preaching) keeps me sane-I hope I haven’t offended anyone, these are my views and writing them down hardens my resolve and sharpens my mind-I mean no ill to anyone (other than the dimocrats, natch).

Onwards and upwards,

Stacie Young

P.S.just for full disclosure, I used to be a political pollster and am manipulative by nature-just saying :)

No Time To Rest

We can NOT rest! Obama declares that it’s time to act on health care. They met with the Dems a couple nights ago to basically bribe them. One judgeship has already been given to the brother of Jim Matheson from Utah for a yes vote on government stealing your money because they think they know what’s best for you. Obama wants them to shove this bill down our throats through reconciliation, a proceedure that was never intended to be used in this manner. Also, don’t forget, THERE IS NO RECONCILIATION BILL TO BE VOTED ON YET!

The bloom is definately off the Obama rose!

* * * * * * * * GREAT JOB ON MARCH 2nd PATRIOTS  * * * * * * * * *
Yes, many of us were on hand to meet the drive-by POTUS! We were joined by patriots from around the area and kept applying the pressure! Several of us were quoted in various articles around the country and many were seen on TV. It was interesting to note that althought 60% of the population voted for him, there was a pretty meager showing of support. Signs that got the media attention included “I’m not your ATM, and Here Comes Santa Claus”.

It was interesting to note that many people who came out that rainy day, stood with us protestors instead of the supporters, although they remained quiet. Also worth mentioning is that when we educated the supporters about some of the administration’s agenda items, they were surprised.

Hello Patriots!

Hello Patriots!

The last few days have been very busy, just as you would expect them to be!

First, we want to thank Tom and JB for putting together a very enjoyable evening at B&D Burger last Thursday.  We also want to thank each and every person who attended the meeting and each of you who generously gave your financial support (even if you couldn’t make it that evening) which will allow me to attend the convention.  The words “thank you” hardly seems adequate to express the sincere gratitude and appreciation we feel.  I am confident this convention will yield tools, resources and information that will allow all of us to have an even greater impact.  We had many new people at the meeting and we hope they felt at home and we look forward to seeing them again and working together to save this great country from tyranny.

As we reported at the meeting, you all generously donated enough money to cover my costs for attending the convention, and there will likely be a few dollars left over.  What we’d like to do, is set it aside to help pay for expenses associated with a coming event – we have a few planned, as you’ll see below.

As you all know, we were greeted with something other than southern hospitality when some of us attempted to visit Attorney General Thurbert Baker’s office.  We distributed the report to as many people as we could.  I think some people thought we made it all up because it was so egregious.  Bill Edwards had me on the radio and I repeated the story.  Bob and Dave called in to lend support, which was very much appreciated.  Rose told the group that the interview was also aired on Rush Limbaugh’s radio show and The Savage Nation!

We may be a relatively small band of people, but we are having a significant impact.  As much as the media is trying to say the GOP is keeping the liberal agenda from advancing, it is YOU who is holding their feet to the fire.  Both sides of the aisle feel the heat and we have to keep the pressure on.  Scott Brown’s win in MA, as well as a win for traditional American values in Virginia and New Jersey are a testimony to just that.  And don’t forget, health care was supposed to be signed sealed and delivered last August!  All your calls, visits, letter, emails and faxes have paid off.  Unfortunately, it appears that Congress and the White House doesn’t want to listen to us.  That means we can’t let up – and it means we might need to get a little more radical to make sure of message is heard.  We need to make sure Washington understands that it’s the people’s agenda that should be followed and not that of either political party.

We talked briefly about the State of the Union address the other night – we’re pretty sure Obama thinks we’re stupid because we don’t agree with his agenda, which he vowed not to change.

We cannot rest as they are still vowing to push health care through.  Obama thinks we spent too much time debating the bill and that’s why it didn’t pass.  What he still fails to grasp is that we have read the bill – actually bills – and we KNOW we don’t want it!

We don’t want government doing anything outside of what is enumerated in the Constitution.  Why is that such a difficult concept for him to grasp?  Therefore, our work is not done – it will likely never be done!  I could launch into a five page dissertation right now, but let’s stick to business.

The Tybee Island Republicans Club had a meeting last week and enjoyed meeting many wonderful people.  We talked a bit with Jack Kingston and hope to meet with him to discuss what we’d like to see from DC.  I’m pretty sure he’s got a good understanding of what we want from all the phone calls we’ve made, and the emails, letters, faxes we sent to him, not to mention all the town hall meetings.  We’re hoping TIRC will have us back.

I am honored to have been asked to speak at a MOWW (Military Order of the World Wars) meeting on March 12th and at a Constitutionalist Party meeting following the convention.  I am looking forward to both as these are great opportunities to educate people about our mission and for them to learn we are not right wing extremists, as we have been portrayed by the media.  We are also scheduling an interview with a web video person (I’ll give you details when it’s done) that will likely also be done after the convention.

Glenn Beck:  One of his producers interviewed me over the phone about our experience in Atlanta.  Apparently it’s of no interest to them, as I have heard back from them!  Oh well, if something changes I’ll let you know.

February 27th is the first anniversary of the new Tea Parties.  There will be an event in Atlanta and if 50 people from our group would like to go, we’ll saddle up and ride!  We’d also like to have a concerted effort to educate the public about our mission.  To that end we’ll be putting together a flier that we will hand out to people all over the Savannah area.  The flyer will detail our mission (traditional American values and governance within the confines of the Constitution – your feedback if always welcomed) and four-five bullet points on key issues (health care, cap and trade, jobs, budget/spending/deficit – again, your feedback is welcomed).  The flier will also contain dates and locations of future events and contact information.  WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS, because we want to be EVERYWHERE.  We might even throw a thank you BBQ at the end of the day!

March 17th – is St. Patrick’s Day!  We have applied to march in the parade this year!  This may sound a little odd, but it should be LOTS of fun.  People who want to march will be dressed in 18th Century clothing!  We will have some period re-enactors among our group who will do a musket drill, while the other enjoy a spot of tea at the various stops.  We may even have some instrument players in our group so we may dance if we so desire!  We are not allowed to hand things out along the parade route, however, we can hand things out before the parade begins.  We were thinking the women could pour green tea from their tea pots and the men could hand out scrolls with our info on them.  Please let us know if you’d like to march and/or pour and scroll!

April 15th – I know the Savannah Tea Party group is going to be holding a Tax Day Tea Party at Rousakis Plaza at noon.  So mark that on your calendars.  We also have a bunch of patriots who just can’t seem to get enough of Washington, DC, so we’re packing our bags again and heading north!  Bus is $105 per person, leaving 4/14 at 7:00am from Home Depot in Pooler, returning about 8:00pm on April 16.  Because “they’ll be in session” hotel rooms in DC are VERY expensive. We’re working on hotels both in and out of DC and will let you know what we’re able to get by next week.  We’ll be sending out a flier when we have the hotel information.

July 4th – this is the one year anniversary for 13th Colony Patriots and obviously a day of celebration for our country.  Let’s get together and have some fun!  We’re thinking about some good ol’ American favorite like baseball, hot dogs and apple pie – then again a horseshoes, a low country boil and watermelon sounds good too!  You guessed it, we’re looking for people to help coordinate and promote the event.

We know many of you were looking forward to the Glenn Beck rally in DC on August 28th.  We have recently learned that the event’s purpose and focus has changed completely from its original intension.  The event is now a fund raiser for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation provides college educations to the surviving children of fallen special operations personnel. Funding is provided for tuition, books, fees, room and board and expenses.  The Foundation also provides immediate financial assistance to the families of wounded special operations personnel to allow immediate travel to be bedside for their loved one’s recovery.  I suggest we have a fund raising event here that day and send a nice size check to the fund instead of attending the event in DC.  Please let us know if you would like to help coordinate the event in Savannah.  If there are at least 50 people interested in taking a bus to DC for the event, we’ll make it happen, but we’ll need to know by July15th.

9/11 – rally in Washington.  All I can say is put the date on your calendar and get ready to ride a bus to reclaim freedom for this great country and every citizen who loves her.

November 2 – is election night.  Let’s get together and watch the results roll in!  Details will be coming as the date draws near.  Just have your best pjs ready to go and a big batch of your favorite snack to share!

Our website is being tweaked as we speak (thank you Mary Conley)!  The site is www.13thColonyPatriots.com.  The site isn’t live yet but should be rolling by 2/8.  I’ll send out an email to everyone when it’s up.  Please bookmark the site once it’s up and check there often.  We’re going to be putting links and posting articles that we hope you’ll find useful and informative.  You will also be able to get event details there.

We noted that the National Tea Party Convention has received some bad press recently and two speakers have backed out.  We contacted the event coordinators ourselves and were told that they were denied approval by the Ethics Committee (who’s on that committee) to speak.  No big deal.  The media also reported that the coordinators of the event may make money for their efforts – when did that become a crime?  Anyway, I’m excited to be going!  I will post a video blog at least once each day so you can keep tabs on me!

We also announced that one of our patriots will be running for US House of Representatives in the 12th District.  We wish Mike Horner the very best and hope that this encourages other patriots to come forward and consider running for office.

Finally, I have stepped down from being on the planning committee of the Savannah Tea Party.  I feel my time and energies are best focused on continuing to develop the 13th Colony Patriots and the specific purpose for which we were formed.  Of course, we will continue to support the Savannah Tea Party, and those within that group are more than welcome to join us on the frontlines of the war against tyranny.  It is essential that we keep in mind that the grassroots movement of which we are part, consists of a variety of groups, including Patriot, Tea Party, and 9/12 and others.  The more expressions of the movement that we see rise up across our country, the better, so we can continue to “look over the shoulder” of those we put into office.

Next meeting is scheduled for February 13th – place to be announced next week.  The concentration will be on getting the word out about what we’re doing on 2/27 and sharing what Memphis had to offer.

My bags are packed and I’m ready to go!  Up the revolution!

1/15/2010 Rally in Atlanta 13th Colony Patriots Denied Admittance to Judicial Building, Police Called and Continued to Shadow Group

13th Colony Patriots Denied Admittance to Judicial Building, Police Called and Continued to Shadow Group

13th Colony Patriots and Golden Isles Tea Party organized a rally at the steps of the Capitol building in Atlanta on January 15, 2010.  Patriots from Brunswick, Savannah, Atlanta, Tipton and others turned out to protest the proposed health care legislation.  In addition, the crowd of approximately 100 people rallied to encourage Georgia state legislators to defend the rights of the states and refuse to allow, what would be, an unprecedented transfer of power from the states to the federal government.  Following the rally, attendees separated and entered the Capitol building, Coverdell and Judicial buildings to deliver letters to a number of our elected officials.

A group that included the founder of 13th Colony Patriots, Elizabeth Mancha, two retired military men (one of whom is in his late 80s), a former chaplain in the Air Force Reserve, a 62-year old former CSX railroad worker and small business owner, and a retired Atlantic Armstrong Atlantic State University worker and grandmother, entered the Capitol Building without incident and visited the office of Governor Purdue and others who proclaim to serve the residents of the great state of Georgia.

We then went the Judicial Building in order to hand-deliver letters to the office of the Attorney General, and candidate for Governor, Thurbert Baker.

Upon entering the building, the security guard asked the group who we were there to see.  We told her we were there to see Baker.  She asked us what we were there to see him about.  I thought that was a rather odd question for her to ask, as it was really none of her business.  However, we told her we wanted to talk to him about the proposed health care legislation and that we would like him to protect our State’s rights.  She asked if we had an appointment.  We told her we did not.  We told her that we would be happy to drop the letters off to his secretary or Mr. Darrell Robinson.  She said no.

She walked out of sight for a moment and returned to the security station.  She said that she “was told” that we could put our letters in an envelope for Baker.  We again told her that if he was not available that we would like to see his secretary or Mr. Robinson.  She stood back from her station and started pacing back and forth.  I searched my folder and pulled out letters addressed to Baker.  I thought I had brought Baker’s phone number with me but could not locate it.  She told us we had to leave.  She said that we couldn’t “stand there and write a letter” and repeated that we had to leave.  We told her that we were simply attempting to enter a public building, paid for with our tax dollars, so we could deliver letters to an elected official or his staff.  We also told her that we had just visited the Governor’s office without an appointment and couldn’t understand why we couldn’t just drop a couple of sheets of paper to Baker’s office.

I could not find Baker’s phone number in my papers and attempted to reach my husband so he could call Baker’s office.  Since I could not reach him I started writing a note to Baker.  I asked the guard for her name several times.  She refused to give it to me.  She continued to pace back and forth.  We heard the guard communicate on her phone that there was “a code” something, I can’t remember what.  I continued to write my note with shaking hands.  The time was 2:50pm.

Approximately five armed men in uniform entered the building and virtually surrounded us.  I was still writing my short note to Baker.  One of the officers asked the guard what was wrong. She told him that we wanted to see Baker and we didn’t have an appointment.  I told the officer that we would like to see his secretary or Mr. Robinson to deliver letters to them.  The female officer became increasingly agitated each time I reminded her that we would be happy to drop the papers off to Baker’s secretary or Mr. Robinson.  The lead officer would not allow us to enter.  I reminded him that it was a public building, but he said we had to leave.  I asked him for his name.  He identified himself as Officer Willingham.  I asked the entry guard for her name again and she finally said, in a very reluctant tone, “Officer Lester”.  Because she spoke so softly I asked for it again.  She didn’t answer.  I asked again, but she wouldn’t answer.

It should be noted that, during our visit, we observed two other people who entered the building and were allowed access.  They were not asked for ID or if they had an appointment.

We alighted the building to find two other officers arriving on the scene.  We met up with other people who attended the rally as we walked to the next door building in order to continue delivering letters to State legislators.

We entered the Coverdell building and joined Dawn Forbes, founder of Golden Isles Tea Party, who was identifying building and room numbers for letter delivery with the aid of a guard.  Much to our surprise, the same officers that surrounded us earlier entered the building and surrounded much of our group.  One of the officers told another guard at the front desk, to call him if we gave them any problems.

We did not give anyone any problems before or after the seven police officers were called to remove us from a building that we pay for with our tax dollars, with the simple intent to deliver a couple of pieces of paper.

We didn’t yell at anyone, we weren’t threatening in anyway, we didn’t shout, we didn’t name call, we didn’t throw anything, we didn’t use abusive language, we didn’t touch anyone, yet we were determined to deliver our letters.  We were simply trying to exercise our civil liberties and we were denied.
